Carol had a decent night last night, after not such a good one the night before. Yesterday morning before leaving for work ( I have been staying in her room during the week now becuase she doesn't want to be alone) she really wanted to see the girls that night. So mom and dad brought them up...it was great. It seemed to be the first time Chloe really relaxed with Carol. Probably becuase she saw Safiya laying on/next to her and figured if she can I can....or just got jealous:)
They did an MRI yesterday. Initial findings show nothing abnormal...but they sort of expected that I guess. The harborview thing is back on the table. It seems Swedish and Harborview are on board as well. We are just working out the logisitics now.
She is getting better day by day, I don't think she realizes it though. I am sure she will in time. She told me a couple months ago her goal to get out of the hospital was 1 month. So funny that she set a goal to get out....an unrealistic one...but cool.
Also, I just want to again say thank you for all the things everyone has done and is doing for us. All the people making my family food everyday, cleaning our house, landscaping, watching the girls, financially supporting, cards, gifts, diapers, visiting Carol...thank you. It is making what seems like an impossible situation possible.

I am so happy to hear that she is doing better day by day. I do hope that her pain has decreased.
It is so wonderful that your parents can bring the girls to the hospital. I can't imagine how wonderful it is for Carol to visit with them. Carol, keep on setting
goals. You've already met a ton with your will to fight.
Thinking of you, praying for you, and rooting for you all from far away.
Love,
Stephanie & family
Yeah! I'm so happy for her progress.
Once I was awake for long periods of time I insisted that I wasn't alone. Todd stayed in my room all day and worked from his laptop (maybe your patient's can come to you, LOL!)
To reconnect me with the outside world my friends and family would read me magazines and such. It helped me feel like detached.
For a long time I couldn't even recall how the inside of our house looked. I had had some weird dreams because of the drugs, so that mixed me up too.
I'm sure the psyciatrist has spoken to her about the dreams but it is something that does need to be addressed. I was lucky that mine weren't scary dreams but they are too often confused with reality. Just wanted to mention it in case Carol hasn't sorted out her dreams from reality yet.
I wouldn't be surprised if she makes it out in a month :)

Thanks for the update. Glad she is improving. I'm sure she gets pretty lonely. The girls must have been a real treat. I'm glad chloe is feeling more comfortable with the situation. That will help Carol too! She's so amazing. I hope the pain is getting under control. Thinking of all of you constantly.

Scott,
We are super bummed we can't make it this weekend but I am so glad that you have been able to spend the night with Carol this week! I am also glad to hear that Chloe is more relaxed. It seems each time it is gets a little bit easier. Send Carol and the girls our love and we will see you next weekend. Please let us know if you need anything at all.
Love you guys,
