So a pretty good night and morning for Carol. Around 10 last night her temp went down to 98-99, and her heart went down to the 80's. Those numbers have remained and are staying at that level. Which is great...I haven't scene her heart rate below 118 in two weeks. The nurse changed her pain medication to Dilaudid ( I think that is the spelling) which she seems to be doing much better with. Much less thrashing around, and looks overall more pleasant. Her oxygen saturation dipped abit with the new drug, but appears to have gotten back on track. Her blood pressure was a little lower than it had been yesterday, this morning. They will be giving a bolus of fluid to get that back up. Have a good day!!

Way to go Carol!!! Thank you for all your updates Scott!! I copy and paste them to all the my friends that are praying.
Scott,
Great news this morning!! Are they still giving her steroids for ? adrenal insufficiency?
Someone mentioned Carol's laugh in a comment a few days ago...and since I cannot get her laugh out of my head followed by a "that's hilarious dude"! It makes me smile and I cannot wait to hear that laugh and those words again soon.
Thinking of you all so much and sending prayers.
Stephanie
Thank you so much for keeping us posted. We are always thinking about you and hopeful that Carol and Safiya get out of there soon.
What wonderful things to hear!
I am assuming "rock solid" blood pressure & heart rate is fantastic and that her kidneys are functioning on their own---wonderfully unbelievable! I know that was one of the major concerns when this whole thing first started!
I'll be there in about a week and I can hardly wait to sit with her, cheering her on in person! Being so far away has been so difficult but my thoughts are with you all every moment.
Being Carols best friend since elementary school, I feel like I am incomplete right now. She has always been my other (better) half. It has been so hard to not be by her side and holding her hand through all of this. Carol is the strongest person that I have ever met and I know that she will pull through this. I can't wait to finally come and visit her in 14 days. Scott, I am so proud that Caol has you for a husband. You are the best. I knew it the first time that we met that you were the perfect match for Carol. I love you guys sooo much. Stay strong! Lisa
Scott: Thinking of you all a lot today. I'm working on our medical records and keep seeing Carol's name pop up. Keep up the great support and daily info. Hope to get back to see her tomorrow.

Carol: here at your old home, the MGH diabetes center, our thoughts and prayers are with you daily. From Scott's blog, we see that you have been improving each day and can't wait till you will be talking with us again!
Love from Karen and Kathy H.
Stephanie, no more steroids. Her temperature and heart rate seemed to improve quickly after giving it, but then shortly returned to hight levels. So the risks of prolonged wound healing outweighed the possible benefit they had.
They nurses seemed convinced that the issue causing the high fever and heart rate was some necrotic fat tissue around the c-section site, and some blood accumulation in the wound itself....I guess.
