Wow, thanks for all the comments and thoughts everyone. Her wounds on her hips and back are seeming to get better, although she is still in alot of pain on her back. The rehab seems to be going well, although I thought they would be working her more than they are. I may need to call and get some extra rehab going. The rehab program we have lined up, although good, appears to build there program around what our insurance will cover:(.

Carol's famiily has been in town this entire week making taking care of the girls and Carol so much easier, but not easy. Lifting Carol right now is tough due to her back. Once that heals it will be much easier for 1 person to do the lifting. What else......Chloe and Safiya are doing very well. Both have been a little sniffly this week. Thanks again everyone.

Scott

Dear Scott, Carol and sweetie girls:

I found a link to your blog through CJaneEnjoyIt and I sat down and read your story from start up unitl today. Your families story of love between a husband and wife, the love for their children and the love of family and friends is testimony to God's greatness every single day. All of you form a living example of what I believe God had in mind when he created "perfect love." Forget the fantasty, forget the media images, forget everything but God's love expressed through us for one another. Scott thank you for sharing your story so openly. Stories like yours can change the world and you, Carol and your girls are doing just that. In the midst of the internet junk, your family's story is (okay get ready to laugh) what I have come to believe as God connecting to us through the internet. I admire your courage, your strength, your love for your wife and children. Your wife is a hero for not giving up. Your children are quite simply and quite powerfully, beautiful. Their photos are amazing and thank you for sharing them. Your story Scott is also a powerful example of what works and what does not in our current healthcare system. Our healthcare providers must be on 911 regardless of ability to pay and we need a system to support this demand. When a person is in need we must have a system responsive to deliver whatever care, however. I hope that someday down the road when you, Carol and your pumpkins are settled into life again that you would consider sharing your story in front of congress. It is an example of why we need healthcare reform and you present your story in an educated and balanced way. You will get their attention as you are now getting the attention of the country. I know you have so much responsibility now but I hope you will consider this somewhere down the road. I know as Carol recovers her story can be a powerful vehicle for so many lessons that we all need. I am praying for all of you with all my heart. God bless you all. Please Scott what can I do to help? Let me know and I will deliver. With love and blessings for Carol, you, Chole and Safiya and all those folks helping you! :)

Thank you for sharing your life so openly with the world! Best wishes.

I'm disappointed to hear that you're not getting as much out of Rehab without Walls. I would talk with your case manager and advise her that money is not the issue. We will raise more if we have to! My experience had one, two, and sometime three therapists a day coming to visit. OT, PT, and psychology.
I'm sorry if I steared you wrong :(

Dear Scott, Carol, and girls,
Your dear family is in my thoughts and prayers. I read each post while I was holding my baby and was sobbing at what she has endured. To be separated from her newborn baby and Chloe made my heart break for her. I was wishing I lived close to help you out with your beautiful girls.
You are both inspiring to me and I will put this link on my blog to spread the word about donations.

I also wanted to send Carol a care package and wondered what she would like. I was thinking of my favorite books on CD and some of my favorite music. Or See's Candy? What does she like and where should I send it? You can contact me on my blog if you get a chance. I don't expect a response. You've got enough to worry about. I will be sending this link to friends and family to spread the word about helping.

I am quite sure there are people all around the world that are praying for you. You both are so courageous. I don't even know what to say, other than Heavenly father loves you both and knows your situation. Our Savior knows your pain and heartache. Please know that we are praying for you.

Scott and Carol, I also found your blog from Cjanerun. I read your story from start to finish today and I am in tears! I am so sorry for what you have gone through. I dont know why things happen and I dont think we will ever know. But I know that things happen for a reason. You have 2 beautiful daughters that are so lucky to have a family that loves them so much. Carol is also lucky to have a husband to take such good care of her and your children during this time. Most husbands would not have a clue as what to do with a newborn. Carol...I am so sorry for what you are going through. You and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers and I hope you continue to recover. Miracles happen and Im praying that you will continue to have miracles happen through your recovery. I dont think that I will be able to stop thinking of you and your situation. It hit close to home. I also had an emergency c-section at 32 weeks of pregnancy because of blood pressure problems and I was told I would never beable to have kids again. I am now 18 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child between my first two children I had 4 misscariages and this pregnancy is going good so far. I will continue to read about your situation and I will continue to think about you and pray for you!! Good luck with all you are going through!!!!

Scott and Carol,
What a time you have both been through. God bless you both. I read your entire blog today and when I was explaining to my children what had happened to your family, they asked that we stop right there and say a prayer for you. We will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers as you go through this journey. We may not know why these things happen sometimes, but God knows the plans that he has for both of you... and your adorable daughters. Your love for each other is amazing. Thank you Scott for being the kind of husband who does what needs doing for his family.

Scott and Carol,

I came across your blog today and have been very moved by your story. I too want to add my thoughts and well-wishes.

I have experienced something similar, not the medical cause, but the experience of having a medical emergency approximately 7 years ago that changed our family's life. My mother had a car accident where she was ejected from the vehicle and she sustained multiple injuries including brain damage. We, like you, went through the seemingly never-ending cycle of being in the ICU, sleeping in hospital lobbies, rushed surgeries in the middle of the night, ventilators, loss of muscle mass, PT, OT, swallow studies...etc. All told, my mother was in the hospital for just over 3 months, and then in outpatient therapy for another 6-7 months. I stayed with her every day she was there. We were lucky as she survived with most everything intact with the exception of some residual brain damage and memory loss.

I'm not trying to tell my own sob story or to compare notes. I'm telling this just to let you know that you are not alone. I can remember lying on that cot in her room thinking, ok let's get through tomorrow, let's get through this next surgery. That carried over to let's get her sitting upright, let's get her to talking, etc... We just set little goals and kept focusing on the future. Before we knew it, it was a year after the accident. It changed all of us; something like can't not change people. But it made us appreciate each other so much more than we ever did, and helped us to remember to slow down and enjoy every moment of life.

Your wife sounds like an amazingly strong woman. I know she will get through this and before you all know it, you will be looking at it a year later and be proud, happy, and relieved that you made it through together.

Regards,
Mandy, Greenville SC

Praying for you, too, up in Bellingham, WA. Found you through Courtney (CJane).

I had an amniotic embolism during my son's delivery five years ago and went into DIC and many of the things you have been through. Was in ICU/induced coma/had the same swelling etc.

My heart just is breaking for Carol and all you and the girls have gone through. My daughter was 16 months old at the time I was in all this.

Just know I am praying and am only 1.5 hours away if Carol wants to talk or if we can do anything.

I heard about you from a flyer at Bill's Feed Store in Enumclaw. Compared to your story ours is so minor but maybe we can help in some way. My husband lost both legs in a construction accident 11 yrs. ago. He was also treated at Harborview and his prothetist is near there. The right prothetist can make a huge difference and you will be working with them the rest of your life so be sure to choose one you can relate to and are comfortable with.
My husband refused to let this setback stop him from living. He went back to work (same job) within 2 months, built a barn, etc. One leg is a below knee amp. so he calls that his good leg. Every morning he puts on his legs and goes about his day. He is a true inspiration to me & others.
We are familiar with some of the things you will be going through regarding prothetics, physical therapy, etc.
If we can be of any help please let us know. We live 30 minutes from Enumclaw.

Do you guys have a hoyer lift? Is it possible to use that to transfer her? It makes transfers much easiers, unless he wounds make wearing something so tightly to the skin painful.
