Well we made it through the weekend. Lot's work at home and getting out and about. We are getting the hang of it. Carol wanted me to thank everyone involved with the fundraiser...she had a great time.

Thanks Denice and everyone at the hospital who organized it. At some point I will figure out a way to send thank you cards to everyone involved...just give me a little bit of time for it. Thanks

To friends of Carol's that have been wanting to get in touch with her...feel free to stop by at the house anytime....there is no better time during the's all the same. Well let's just say after 9 am. You can also start trying to reach her by her cell phone, I have gotten her bluetooth headset up and running and she will periodically have it on. Thanks

I came across your blog from reading about The Nie. I am absolutely horrified this happened to your family. It is unbelievable and I am sorry this happened.

One of my thoughts was that I hope you have found a good attorney. If you need help networking an attorney, please let me know.

It is my hope you will continue to find the strength to get through this. My prayers and love are coming your way.

God bless all of you.

We read your blog every morning and we are holding you all up in prayer. Your entire family (in-laws, out-laws, the bunch of you) are a real testimony to the strength and bond of what a family should be. We look forward to the time when Carol will be dictating into her computer - what a read that will be!

Hi! I have been following your blog and I have to say my heart goes out to you and your family. I think of you all often and check your blog often for updates.
I wanted you to know that I saw on Wednesday Oprah is featuring Warrior Moms and one of those mothers has a story very similar to yours from what I could gather from the preview (she has had both her arms and legs amputated after catching a flesh eating bacterial infection following delivery of her baby). Here is a link to her may find inspiration there:

Hi! You don't know me but I saw your blog on c jane run. I really don't know what to say. I have been addicted to your story - your wife's story for a week or so.
I am so incredible sorry for this trial your family is facing. Your wife sounds absolutely amazing, to be able to endure this. You sound amazing.
I want to help & to do something. I hope you don't mind but I am telling your story on my blog & posting your story there. Hoping more people will come forward to help.
Your in my prayers. I hope your wife gets the therapy she needs.
I pray everything will work out.

I have followed this blog for a couple of weeks now after my daughter linked to it.

Thanks to the fundraisers for giving us the chance to donate.

You have been given a great hurdle to overcome - and it looks like you are all "stepping up to the plate" as they say.

I'm sure there are moments of despair. It is my hope that knowing that many are praying for you brings you a measure of comfort.

You are a beautiful couple, a beautiful family. I found your blog also through nienie, and you have been in my heart and prayers ever since. Please know how many people love you and are praying for you both to have the strength you will need in the coming days and months and years. You are an inspiration, but that doesn't mean it's easy for you. Lots of love to you both.

Seeing Carol on the news was truly a blessing to me. I recently moved from Enumclaw to Michigan but keep up on your lives thru the blog. It warmed my heart to see how strong you are. And to just see your beautiful face made me thank our Father in Heaven for the miracle of your life. You truly have inspired thousands. You are in all of our prayers.

What a nightmare you have endured, but what a triumphant recovery you are making. Scott, not many husbands would be as stellar as you are. Carol, you are a remarkable woman, mother and saint. To have such optimism and love even after what you have been given to deal with...I am in awe.

So many prayers and money are coming your way--hope this little bit helps.
