Well after a great night of sleep, a great day for Carol. Carol got mad at her rehab without walls, and complained of not working her enough. So they are upping her workouts. This prompted an extra amputee consult on Thursday at harborview to see is she is ready earlier to get things going prosthetic wise. Her back and hips are looking great. Amazing what can happen in a week.

Amazing what Mrs. CYJ INSPIRING can do! :)
You guys are really an inspiration!
Hang in there! All my blessings and best wishes to you all...
Hope the rehab goes well from now on :)
We're so happy to see that Carol is advocating for herself. This part of her recovery is such a big deal, and she knows it. It's not always easy to find the emotional/physical energy to direct your care at times like these.........way to go!
Love,
Ally & Pete
Go Carol!!
Just found your blog mentioned on another blog. As the mom of two amputee children, I want to encourage you. If you don't already know about I-CAN (www.child-amputee.net), I wanted to tell you about it. Don't be fooled by the words "child amputee" in it's name. Read the website and join the list for encouragement. It includes adult amputees as mentors who can answer questions and encourage.
Oprah today has the story of a mom who went through a similar situation. Just FYI
You GO Girl!!! That's the way to get after it. I am so amazed by your strength and positive character after the incredible challenges you have been given. I was able to watch the video of your fund raiser on Saturday and you are so very beautiful inside and out. No wonder your husband is fighting so hard for you. Your life was spared for a reason and I can't wait to see the amazing things you will do with your life.
Carol you truly are amazing!!! I read about that other woman yesterday. They named the baby Sophia! Close to Safiya, I couldn't believe it. I don't watch Oprah, but I think I will today. Stay strong Carol you really are an inpiration.
Love and Hugs,
Marie
Glad to hear she made a lot of progress this week. She looked great on Komo 4 at the fundraiser. I'm not suprised she wants to push herself harder. She sounded determined to walk by Christmas. What a fighter, always praying for you guys.
Wow...my jaw just dropped. Against all odds and everything. Love your fight Carol. You are AWESOME and beautiful. This is monumental. Keep up the fight girl. You have a gazillion supporters enthused by this news and praying for your recovery right now.
I just ran across your blog last night. My heart goes out to you and your family. I don't know how you are making it through. But I am praying for all of you.
Wow . . . your family is amazing! It's a small world ~ one blog leads to another, leads to another and yesterday I found myself reading your incredible story. When I got to the end and saw the "fundraiser in Enumclaw" I put it all together and figured you must be related to Jay and Beth. They were our good friends when they lived in Oregon. I hurried and e-mailed Beth and she confirmed it. Our continued thoughts and prayers and positive wishes go out to you!
Sounds like the Carol I know and love. :) Of course she's pushing them! Kinda like when she used to put duct tape on the edges of her snowboard so she could practice tricks in the summertime on her trampoline.
Thats my girl-fiesty as ever!!! I am not surprised at all to hear that she is getting restless. Carol has always been on the go all the time since she was 8. Love ya. Lisa.
I just came across your blog and am so unbelievably touched by your family. Carol's strength is a true inspiration. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers. Please tell me how are her eyes? I feel in my heart that they will heal. She is such a brave soul. My best wishes for you and your family.
I'm a stranger who has come over from NieNie's sister's blog ...
I just watched the KOMO 4 report of the fundraiser in Enumclaw. Carol - you are beautiful! It is wonderful to see you fight through this!
Carol is truly an inspiration! We are so happy to see that things are moving along as they should. Stay strong and our prayers are with you all.

I am also a stranger who has been following your blog for a while now. I can't seem to read it without crying. It is such a challenge to go through trauma with your spirits high and the courage to fight through it. Keep up the fight! I too am wondering about the eyes. Is there any chance that the eyesight will return? I keep hoping in my heart that Carol's sight will be restored. After all, miracles are being seen everywhere... Thanks for the updates.
I left a message for all of you before, as a family, but this time I've got to say...Carol, you rock the world. You are an amazing beautiful woman, wife, mother and an inspiration to me. Carol...seriously, you are rockin the world. My prayers are with you every single day. Love and God's blessings, Bonnie

Carol, you probably won't remember me but I sure remember you. You used to give me a ride to seminary everyday. I thought you were the greatest! And now I am finding out that you are. I have been reading your blog for several weeks now and just wanted you to know that you are in my prayers.

That's the Carol I know! She was a fierce softball player and pushed to the end! I'm not surprised that's she's pushing for more!
Love and Prayers

I found your blog from another blog and just spent the last hour and a half reading through all of your posts. What an incredible fighter Carol is! I'm so encouraged by her courage and your efforts to do everything in your power to get her better again.
I work in Seattle in Belltown and live in Renton. I will keep an ear out for any other benefits to support Carol and if there's anything I can do, please let me know. Prayers for your family...Carol is SUCH an inspiration!
Carol,

I've been so touched by your blog.I kept thinking and praying for Carol and you all day long! I also posted link to your blog for people to see on my own blog.May God Bless you both and grant you courage to live the life you desire Amen!
Another stranger-friend brought to your blog via KOMO. Amazing the power of one courageous woman I haven't met but feel like I know! This could have happened to me or any one of my friends and I have thought about that more than once since I heard your story. I know it sounds so weird, but if you need anything, ever, please add me to the list of people who would love to reach out and help in any way that makes sense to you and your family. SERIOUSLY!
Love,
Barrie
Prayer does amazing things!

i am so sorry to ask this of you, but i really don't know who else to ask. I have been reading your blog for quite a while, and know that you all have done the research on the best rehab facilities in our area. On that note, my sister has been stricken with a horrible case of Guillian Barre` disease. She is expected to pull through, but like carol is going to have a long road ahead of her. ?? Do you know of any rehab facilities that will accept a trache and feeding tube?? Thank you for any ideas, and i'm sorry again for bothering you. All the best from our household to yours. Emily (emmynseth@msn.com)
This is good news. I'm glad to hear this.
