8/19/2009

Well lots of more firsts for us in the last couple weeks. Carol got the courage to get into the bath for the first time with Safiya. Well it started out just with Chloe, but I couldn't help it and through Safiya in. It was a huge bubble bath, lot of funny pictures, I am not allowed to post. Safiya is saying lots of little words, and has learned how to kiss people. Chloe is saying lots of 8 word sentences, and isn't afraid to use them. As fall approaches Chloe will start swim lessons, continue some basic music classes, and she has asked to learn how to dance all on her own. We also have to decide if/where preschool will be in her future. Safiya has also started some of the kindermusic classes. Carol will be deciding in the coming days when to have her next needed surgery, and has started wondering about some more cosmetic surgeries available to her if any. Thanks for all the support and friendships, and dinners, and everything.

My sister Erin, just showed me the blog of a gal I have heard of alot, but honestly haven't had the time to really look into...the woman from Utah that everyone knows and comments from the cjanerun blog....wow what a story. I have been reading through it this morning in my spare moments. Striking how all of this ha been going on with my family a different tragedy happens to another, but sort of in reading her blog are dealing with very similiar (yet different) issues. Anyway, cheers to your walk up the "y"!! You look great!

I am so proud of you Carol. Everytime I see you or whenever Scott posts something new. It never surprises me cause you've always been a go getter, but it always makes me happy.

Scott, I read the Nielson family story too and their journey along with yours inspires me everytime. I actually found her blog from a comment left on yours last year.

With all the negative in the world today its always a pleasure to see you guys making positive out of something so difficult. You rock!

I'm recovering from knee surgery - and often have to remind myself that others deal with a lot more than I do.

I'm sure it gets tiresome feeling that you are an "inspiration" to others - but I hope you all know that you are great role models for a world that often focuses on that which isn't really important.

I found the Nielson story at the same time that I found yours. I've checked on both of your families almost daily since then. I'm so glad Carol is doing well. I keep your family in my prayers.

I have been following your blog for several months. I too read both yours and Nie Nie's, and have for quite a while.
You have a beautiful family and I hope the best for all of you.
I love to see updates on Carol, and the rest of your family.
I remember reading back, when I believe Carol was still in the hospital, and checking your blog each night to see if any changes were made. I am very happy to see how well Carol is doing.

Cheering for your family from Utah,
Brittani

I found your blog thru CJaneRun last Aug. My sis in law gave birth last Aug at 26 weeks. She was a perfectly healthy woman, when all of a sudden her body shut down, and she slipped into a coma. She ended up having a liver transplant twice, and they had to do a C section. She is still recovering. Sadly, thier baby did not survive. Its amazing how a 'normal' life can change so quickly.
I check your blog often and think of you all and what your going thru, as well as watching my sis in law struggle with her health. You are always in my prayers.

Hi, I came across your blog from cjane and have really felt inspired by your story. You are all such examples of faith, courage and hope. Thank you for sharing your story with everyone. I have gone through many trials in my own family and when I am feeling down, I always read your blog. Take Care

Thank you so much for the inspiration that you both give to others. I found your blog while following Cjane and NieNie as well. The strength that Carol and Nie have is just awe-inspiring.

Thank you!
